COREY

Dr. Corey Blake is a native of Sandwich and a fourth generation Cape Codder. After graduating from Sandwich High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Roger Williams University in 1998. She subsequently earned her doctorate degree in veterinary medicine in 2002 from Tufts Veterinary School in N. Grafton, Massachusetts. Since earning her degree she has practiced at multiple referral hospitals and general practices on Cape Cod and has focused on small animal general practice, emergency and critical care, and exotic animal medicine.

After working at other facilities Dr. Blake decided that she would like to open and manage a new and progressive modern veterinary practice. Throughout her work experiences over the past ten years, she has been able to garner both medical knowledge and management experience. She will take that with her into this new endeavor and strive to apply the best practices to this new hospital. She endeavors to provide the people and pets of Sandwich and the surrounding communities with solid recommendations, medical knowledge, and compassion.

Primary species interests include canine and feline medicine, as well as exotic animal medicine. Her main areas of interest in small animal medicine include surgery, critical care, and internal medicine. As a child Dr. Blake grew up with all different kinds of animals including birds, reptiles, chinchillas, ferrets, dogs and cats. While at Tufts, she was able to gain exposure to multiple facets of wildlife, zoo, and exotic animal medicine. Spending a good deal of her clinical rotations working with zoo and wildlife facilities both in the US and abroad has allowed her to develop additional skills and knowledge related to exotic animal medicine. She enjoys seeing birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and even the occasional fish!

Having grown up on the Cape, Dr. Blake enjoys spending her free time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and exploring with her children, husband, and two dogs.
